Description
Community members look into a neighbor's goat pen in San José de la Nueva, Mexico. Small animals like goats are sustainable sources of protein.
Personal/Project impact
MCC Mexico staff visited the project supported by MCC partner Institute for Intercultural Studies and Research (Instituto de Estudios e Investigación or IESII). Members of the community demonstrated tomato plants growing in a greenhouse built with ISEII's support, which help keep the plants stable in an increasingly unpredictable climate.
Project Summary
The project helps families raise their levels of food sovereignty by improving their agricultural production systems for self-consumption, actively participating in processes of access, control and management of water sources.
