Personal/Project impact
"My name is Yelena. I am 36 years old. I lived with my family in a small but beautiful town in Luhansk region. I worked as a handball coach at the Youth Sports School. My children Alina, 9, and Valeria, 11, went to school, did gymnastics and played the piano. But after February 24 our life changed. We had to leave the city that was under shelling. We took with us only the most necessary things and our pets (the guinea pig named Vaska and the rat named Motya). For a whole month we had been having hope that this nightmare would end soon, and we would return to our homes, but there was simply nowhere to return."
"I want to express my gratitude to all volunteers, foundations, sponsors, international organizations for such support of IDPs [internally displaced people] who found themselves in difficult situation. Your help is invaluable and needed."
"THANK YOU very much for such a great and necessary help. The thought has been in my head for the whole month, 'It will get colder soon; where can I get warm blankets for the children?' And now, thanks to your help, my girls will be covering themselves with comforters that are beautiful, warm and, most importantly, made with love. May God give you health, strength and opportunities to continue to help people."
