Description
Media caption: Wisland Formonvil, one of MCC Haiti’s agroforestry staff, helps members of the Wopisa community in their gardens before Hurricane Matthew. MCC will continue to work here, assisting families as they rebuild and improve their gardens. MCC Photo/ Paul Shetler Fast
Extra information: Participants in an MCC and CFGB supported agroforestry program in Wopisa, Haiti, work together to prepare Elimere Logen's new garden for planting. This agroforestry project works with vulnerable community members, such as single-parent families, to improve agricultural production on marginal land through improved soil conservation and sustainable agriculture techniques. Participants form support groups to help each other in the difficult work of creating these gardens and the soil conservation structures necessary for them to flourish. (MCC photo/Paul Shetler Fast)
