He lives in the community of Otovan in La Chapelle, Haiti, where serious flooding caused by Hurricane Irma has damaged many homes and gardens.Jonmarits is worried that cholera, which had already been on the rise in the region before the hurricane, will be exacerbated by the recent floods. Hurricane Irma, a category-five hurricane, struck the Caribbean region in September 2017 causing extensive damage.
