Description
By strengthening local agricultural cooperatives and giving training in organic gardening, MCC is helping Guatemalans to provide for their families. Maria Victoria Castro, right, and her sister Ana Castro, participants in an MCC-supported project in the Totonicapn district, stand in one of their 10 irrigated terraces. In just one terrace, the sisters produced 175 cabbages. They sold 60 to 70 percent of the cabbages, raising their family income. "Now with the benefit of this project we do not need to go to the market very often," says Maria. Victoria Castro. "Instead more families are coming to our house to by the vegetables that they need of their consumption."
"Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7
