Extra information. Do not use without permission: Nhung Tran-Davies received a doll from her sponsors when she arrived at the airport in 1979. The moment was captured for the local newspaper, and she still has the doll today. Her family were refugees, fleeing Vietnam in fall 1978, spending eight months in a refugee camp in Malaysia before being sponsored to come to Canada, arriving in 1979. Nhung Tran-Davies is now working with MCC and her friends to help sponsor two families of refugees from Syria.
