Description
Women collect dry rations from the government relief camp in Naihati, West Bengal, India. In West Bengal, MCC partnered with Nabarun Seva Niketan (NSN) to provide food assistance to 1,500 flood-affected families. Food packages include rice, daal, potatoes, onions and spices. MCC also partnered with Economic Rural Development Society (ERDS) to provide emergency food for 1,520 families in Malda district, West Bengal.
More Information: MCC responded with emergency relief assistance in the wake of severe flooding and landslides across parts of Nepal, India and Bangladesh. Two weeks of incessant monsoon rains occurring at the end of August 2017 displaced more than 1.7 million people and killed more than 1,200 in the region. (MCC photo/Madhur Lakra)
