Description
Jessica Tawk, pictured in the Al Koura region of North Lebanon on February 23, said she was able to let go of her fear of people who have different religions beliefs than she does through participation in a peacebuilding project by Cross Arts Cultural Association (CACA), an MCC partner. (Local COVID-19 prevention regulations were followed while taking this photo.)
CACA's project is funded through a European Union grant of $1.3 million (994,000 Euro) awarded to MCC and Development for People and Nature Association (DPNA), a Lebanese nongovernmental organization. The grant, “Promoting Religious Tolerance and Mutual Understanding within and between Faiths in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Iraq,” runs from 2018-2021. MCC and DPNA are using the fund to support the peacebuilding projects of 17 community-based organizations in four countries and providing advanced peacebuilding training, capacity building, direct mentoring and networking.
