More information:
MCC dignity kits contain hygiene and sanitary items, including eco-friendly, washable menstrual pads and liners tailored for women and girls who don’t have ready access to the items. The fleece pads are washable, reusable and durable enough to last for a year or longer, helping to relieve the financial burden from families and young women while reducing material waste.
MCC supports a school kits distribution project through partner Loreto Schools Rumbek for vulnerable families in the Maker Kuei community and Diocese of Rumbek to improve school attendance and enrollment. The project also includes distribution of dignity and hygiene kits and infant care kits for young and expectant mothers. This area of South Sudan continues to experience a protracted crisis situation with recurrent inter-communal violence, cattle rustling and revenge attacks. Food insecurity is prevalent and the families spend most of their resources on food and medicines. Supplies contained in the kits help families send their children to school, increase school attendance for girls, and improve the health of infants and young children.
