Description
Nyawar Mapieny Gathoul, 17, holding her own 6-month-old son Zoal Mapiny Gai, takes care of the child without the help of his father. Nyawar, standing with some of her younger brothers and sisters, also takes care of her seven siblings. Their parents have died. They live on monthly food distributions from SSUDRA and the money they can make by gathering wood they sell to buy corn cobs, which brings in more money. The young family lives in Rubkona informal settlement camp in Unity State, South Sudan.

The family has enough food for one meal a day.
Project Summary
To address the needs of the most vulnerable returning refugees, displaced people and community members, South Sudanese Development and Relief Agency (SUDDRA), a ministry of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan (ECSS), provides monthly food rations for 800 households in the towns of Rubkona and Bentiu in Unity State.
