Project Summary
Twenty-four young adults gathered at Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in March of 2022 for a week of learning about peacebuilding focused on themes of migration, antiracism, nonviolence, restorative justice and dialogue. Participants came from all over the U.S. and together wrestled with their call to peacemaking. Through interactive learning activities, presentations from facilitators, visits to local peacebuilding organizations and group time together to reflect on these and other learning experiences, young adults gained tools to implement their own dreams of peace and justice in their local communities. The Young Adult Peacebuilders Training was run by MCC U.S. National Peace and Justice Ministries and facilitated by Jes Stoltzfus Buller (Peace Education Coordinator), Saulo Padilla (Immigration Education Coordinator) and Daniela Lázaro-Manalo (Racial Equity Advocacy and Education Coordinator).
